Mama Cat Gave Birth To Four Kittens And Then Papa Cat Did Something Really Unexpected

13 min read

It doesn't take long for pets to become a member of our family. If you have pets than you might remember the moment you held them in your arms for the first time. Little eyes staring at you asking for your warm love and care. The whole process of our pets growing in front of our eyes where they divulge themselves in some kind of cute little habits makes our life easy to breathe. Many dogs have a habit of sleeping with their human in bed or sofa and many need their personal space. But whatsoever it is, our pets are everything for us. The story of these two cats will surely melt your heart. Though they might seem like normal cats, believe us, the thing that these cats did is what we humans do.

Incredible Feed Story

Thuy Duong was really excited about the whole thing that was happening to her cats. She loved her two cats so much that she decided to share the news with her friends and did it by posting it on Facebook in February 2017. She wasn't expecting showers of love but her feed was filled with wishes from her friends. Duong's family and her friends all were waiting for the good news and it did. But something amazing happened during all of this that made this story worth reading.

Adopted

Duong's family hoped that someday they will have pets in their house but it'll be two sweet little cats they didn't know. A year ago, the family adopted two cats from the shelter and named them Tam and Yello. Despite not knowing each other, they both bonded really well and in no time became best of friends. It's very difficult for two cats to get along with each other as the cats have that reputation of being not that social, but this wasn't the case with Tam and Yello.

More Than Friends

Tam and Yello bonded so well that soon Tam was pregnant. Duong's heart was melted with the news and she couldn't wait to hold the newborns in her arms. She took a great care of Tam until she was ready to for the delivery. She was even more surprised to see how Yello's behavior changed during this period. And then the day came and everything changed between Tam and Yello.

Wait Was Over

Duong was at the wedding and after she was back at home, she realized that Tam was not in her usual place. She found her sitting next to Yello and she found that Tam was ready to give birth. She quickly changed her clothes and started the preparation for the delivery process. She was so excited and was ready to help Tam during the process. But there was someone else who was getting ready between all of this.

We Are Ready!

Duong wasn't sure what all that is required during the delivery but still, she picked Tam and placed her on something comfortable. She took out the same basket in which she kept Tam and Yello after their adoption. She filled the basket with some cushions so that Tam and her newborns can sleep peacefully. But where is Yello?

Photographs

For Duong, this was a very special moment, so she decided to capture everything. The series of photos she took had some great clicks in it, like the first time mama Tam saw all four of her kittens, and how peaceful she looked after everything was finished. Tam was excited but she was in dire need of rest. But Duong kept searching for Yello who was somehow invisible in all of this.

Wildly Facts About Cats

Before we further go into the story, let us make you aware of some facts that revolve around the cats. Did you know adult cats only meow to communicate with humans? Yes, they do so to get your full attention. So, next time your cat meows, give her some of your attention too. They can even recognize your voice but just act like they don't care but cats also love their owner. You'll be amazed to know what Yello did. He is for sure different from any other cats.

More About Cats

If talking on general terms, female cats are typically right-pawed while male cats are left-pawed. Cats have some unique ways to show their affection towards their owners. First of all, cats and dogs are very different species and get this out of your head if your cat doesn't like to sit on your lap that doesn't mean she is not affectionate. Not all cats are lap lovers. You should pay attention to other details, like, she may enjoy sitting beside you or maybe even a little further.

Little Details To Note

Though your cat doesn't like to sit on your lap but think about how many times your cat has rubbed her head against you (head bunting), have given you one of those slow-blink cat kisses or might have rubbed alongside you, cute purred sounds or those scratchy-tongue kisses. All these signs are ways in which they show their affection towards you.

Even there are some little details that as being an owner you should take care of. Like dogs, cats don't like belly rubs. Rubbing their belly can trigger a defensive response. Some cats may also have choices of places where they like to be touched. Some cats like long massages and some prefer a little stroke on their upper body.

She Wants To Know You

For cats, you are really special ( though they don't show to act too cool) and spend a great deal of effort in getting to know you. They take note of what you like and what you don't( they have a bigger memory than an iPad). If you do the same in taking care of the things they like and don't like then you increase your chances of having a perfect relationship with your cat that you've always wanted.

Solitary Or Social?

No, cats are not solitary creatures. They are also social animals, it's just that their social structure is different than the dogs. They are considered to predators who hunt alone because they go after the prey that'll be sufficient for them. We agree that they come from the family of predators but they don't act like one when it comes to living with a family. They also try to engage themselves in any way they can. But being a predator they just remain cautious in certain situations. So next time people say that they don't like cats, you have some facts that can change the misconception around them.

Daddy Cat

Duong searched for Yello and there he was, standing at the door but watching everything closely. He was behaving like a human. It is said that a cat's brain is 90% similar to a human's and have nearly identical sections of the brain that control emotion. Yello seemed very nervous while Tam was in labor. But he was watching over everything and made sure that things were running smoothly.

Arrival

When the babies finally made it into the world, Yello did not stand by the gate anymore and was ready to take the role of a dedicated father. He ran over to the kittens and began to clean them off. He was doing it very slowly and swiftly as if he knew that he might hurt them. Once he was done cleaning the babies he ran over to see the love of his life Tam. He was happy to find that Tam was okay. But then something unexpected happened that shocked Duong.

Kiss Of Love

In one of the photos, you can actually see what appears to be a kiss that was exchanged between Tam and Yello. The moment of watching both of them this close and in love would have been a moment worth capturing. Thanks to Duong who managed to capture these images. But there was something more that Duong captured between all of this. She saw Yello in a very different light.

Yello's Behavior

When interviewed by Bored Panda, Duong told them about Yello's change in behavior. Yello was never really friendly and only spent time with Tam or the family dog, she explained. Yello who has always loved his personal space shocked Duong completely. Now, he was taking care of Tam and four kittens. But then Yello left them surprised after he did this.

Some Odd Behavior

Many experts on cats found that there are times when male cats often try to kill kittens when they are born. But why did they do that? In fact, that's why many people advise keeping the male cat away from pregnant cats. Keeping that in mind Duong started to keep an extra eye on Yello. But somehow she was shocked to see this behavior from her cat. There were no words but only tears.

Born Predators

Cats come from the family who is predators by birth. They survive on their animal instinct that demands hunting. Just like lions who kill off their newborn cubs to increase their chance of mating with female lions in the pride. Male cats also kill their cubs if they feel there is a threat to their dominance. But Yello left everybody in shock and what he did change everything.

Unusually Paternal

With all of the information we have here, Yello's attitude towards everything was shocking for everybody in the house. You won't find any male cat taking care of the newborn kittens but he was different. He was ready to take the role of a father and was willing to give all the love and care that was required during that time. Yello is truly a special cat and a great father.

Not Alone

We know that Yello's behavior isn't the norm for male cats and he proved that he was not like other cats. He was different and special by all means. He knew what love is and how to give it back. He was doing everything like a human. He was there when the kittens call for Tam. He cleaned them and made sure they don't feel lonely when Tam is not around. Just like Yello, the cat owners have reported that their male cats help out with cleaning the kittens, playing around with them, and sticking with them all day. Some male cats have even brought the kittens' litters to the house to show them to the owner.

Great Pictures

When Duong posted the pictures online that were incredible to see, everyone on the internet was in awe and appreciated Yello's behavior during all of this. Everyone on the internet and social media saw Yello's dedication towards his newborns and love was all over the internet. Yello proved that pets are taken care properly, they can also reciprocate their love towards the owners and other animals. You can imagine the attention this family got where one album received over 8,000 reactions on Facebook alone.

Stunned

Duong never expected such attention from the people but somehow Yello's behavior melted the hearts all over the internet. “I almost ran out of battery because [of all the] reports,” she wrote on her Facebook. “My cat is famous. Look at [his] wife and children that are still lying [next] to each other and dry my tears.”

More Attention

Duong's cat got even more attention when one user uploaded the photos onto Imgur. She told that on Imgur the photos have gotten over 500,000 views. The users who saw the photos left several supportive comments under the pictures. The story of Tam and Yello was trending on the internet and this was just the start. With time the story became more and more popular on the internet.

Disbelief

One user was in shock after seeing the album filled with photos of Yello who seemed to be so much in love with his kittens. “I have never seen a father cat in my life,” the Imgur user wrote. “This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.” We think stories like these where pets do something special and different must have made other pet owners proud of their own pets. There was no stopping and the comments kept coming.

More Comments

One user noticed something amazing between Yello and most new fathers. “He looks stressed, then caring, then attentive, then content,” one Imgur user noticed about Yello. “Just like human fathers going through the same experience.”

Shared Experiences

Some users began to share their own stories about their cats giving birth. One user wrote, “We had cats like this, When the mom left the babies to eat and they started meowing, the dad would jump in and keep them company till she came back.” Just like Duong, this guy who posted the story must have felt the same happiness as her. They both know and have experienced these beautiful moments in front of their eyes that will stay forever in their memories.

Perfect Bond

All of this has confirmed one thing for us that a bond between a father and their child isn't just a human thing but animals too feel the same. These kittens are certainly very lucky to have Tam and Yello and Duong as their caretaker who will continue to look after them. We hope to see more of Yello's role as a father. Maybe Duong will post some more photos in future of Papa Yello, Mamma Tam and four kittens( what name she might have given to these little joys of fur?).

Sweet Ending

There can be no better ending for the story that involves pets in it. Wild by nature but similar to human through actions. Who would have thought that Yello will do such thing that will melt hearts and leave people in awe? Yello today is a proud father of four cute kittens and has a perfect soulmate by his side. This amazing and heartwarming story of Tam and Yello will stay forever in our hearts. We hope you think the same way as us.

There are other stories too that made the internet go crazy and revived the love for the pets again. Here are some few stories that will make you hug your pets.

Other Stories That Went Viral

When the volunteers from the shelter found 2-year-old Cheech they all were scared at first because of the face this dog was making. To them, it seemed like he was snarling in fear as he was a street dog who has spent most of his years living off the streets. They weren't sure of how he would react when coming in contact with humans. Later, at the shelter when Cheech was flashing his confusing grins they found out that he was actually smiling. This smile was soon viral all over the internet.

Say Cheech!

Cheech's smile was so pure and surprising that one of the volunteers from the shelter posted the photos of him smiling on Facebook which was nearly shared  8000 times by the people who were swept away by his smooth smile. The shelter was looking for the people who can adopt this cute dog and within a week they were surprised by the response.

Fight Over Adoption

Within a week, after the post went viral, over 50 people had applied to adopt him. This was a huge number because the shelters don't find people that easily who are willing to adopt a street dog. But in this case, everybody wanted him. The volunteer even wrote on Facebook, “if everyone fought over our other dogs like they are Cheech […] my life would be much easier!" Then Cheech met his owner.

New Home

After going through tens of applicants, the shelter stuck on one applicant. Carrie's story really moved the shelter as she recently had lost her dog, Shepherd, to cancer just days before Cheech went viral. She was really happy to bring him home and the picture proves it that even Cheech was really comfortable in his new home. Look how he is smiling!

Power Of Social Media

Other than connecting you with your friends, social media is also a platform to save lives. Because of these few social media posts, these dogs found new place and family. Some were left by their previous owner and some were found on the street asking for little love and care. Next few slides will definitely prove that social media is the biggest weapon anybody can have right there in the pocket.

Adorable Paige

Paige was brought to Franklin County Humane Society on March 8, 2013, and shelter workers were really confident about his adoption because of his gentle nature. But more than a year passed, Paige was still in the shelter and then one of the members of the staff tried something different. He took a picture of Paige wearing a sign that read, "I have been waiting 597 days for a family" and posted it on Facebook. This photo reached more than & million people and exactly one week later, Paige was adopted. We hope he is fine.

The Best Shot!

In 2013, a shelter in Mineral Wells, Texas, rescued a dog named, Elvis. Because the town had only fewer than 17,000 people and nobody was willing to adopt him, so the shelter took the initiative and took photograph and shred the image on Facebook along with the text, "Elvis heard a fella's really got to stand out to get people to give him the exposure he needs for adoption, so he's giving it his best shot." The post was shared by thousands of people on Facebook and some days later, Elvis left the shelter with his new family.

Friendship Goals

The first thing this Husky did when he was left loose was to link up with his best friend who lives across the street. The owner captured the moment and shared it on social media and the praises just kept coming in for these two. If you think only humans have best friends goals then this certainly proves you wrong.

Best Halloween Costume Ever!

If you think what's this guy even doing like trying to mop the roads. If you look closely then you'll see that's not a black mop but a dog. We think this dog just won the best Halloween costume award for 2018. Don't try to beat him in his game he'll mop you away.
