It would become one of her best decisions ever...
Chris felt bad for the lady who was not having her luck. He did not just drop her to the station, he even paid for the gas. He wanted to do this for the lady and saw this as the least he could do. She barely had enough for some amount of gas, let alone to fill up her tank. In a way, Tunde was certain that Chris was a blessing from above. She was right about this and would soon find out.
Chris got a strong sense that this woman was both so strong and vulnerable at the same time. He was intrigued by her. She was tough enough to not have a breakdown even after being stranded. Chris got a strange feeling that she needed more than just being dropped at the gas station. Chris felt happy that he was present to help her. However, this was not the only time he helped her.
All Chris wanted to do was to help Tunde in whatever way he possibly could. He drove her back to fill up the tank of her car. He had a strange connection to her and could not even say his goodbyes to her. Everyone has difficulties in life but he was sure he would be able to help this kind woman. And so that was when he decided to take his wallet out and give all his cash to her. He felt she needed it more than he did. She was beyond thankful to him. They then parted ways. They did not expect to ever meet up again.
Chris was the kind of person who did not hesitate to give something of his to someone if he felt they needed it more. He was selfless and generous that way. He always wanted to give to others as much as he could. He was sure he would get the cash he had in his wallet back in no time. Life got difficult for Chris as his mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. She had been struggling for a while, so Chris had to shift to Georgia to be beside her. But her health deteriorated. Judy was in need of medical care 24/7. Her husband could not handle all this responsibility so they had to hire professional help. So they looked for a professional nurse. However, the woman they decided on, did not show up last minute. But someone came to the rescue.
One of the most important things in life that money cannot buy is health. You need health and a lot of love to make the world your oyster. This was clear for Chris. He felt helpless and sad that his mother was sick like this but the only thing he could do was to be there in case she needed anything from him. When someone new showed up, Chris and his whole family did not expect this person to change their whole lives.
The woman who replaced their first choice came in and introduced herself. She was an expert in dealing with people living with Parkinson's disease. Chris' parents could not believe how efficient this lady was in handling Judy. She always wore a big smile on her face while helping out. She was a ball of positivity that his family needed. His dad was so impressed he phoned Chris to tell him about the nurse. There was a big revelation to be made...
The woman was clearly well-versed with the world. She knew how to deal with folks who were living with this condition and wanted to give up on life. She could light up the whole room when she entered and was great in handling anyone who had this disease. However, there was no doubt that she was especially close to Chris’ mom. He could not wait to meet this wonderful nurse.
"My dad called me after she leaves and said, 'Hey, I got a lady that we need to use because whatever it is, there's something different about her that I feel better when she's in the house, and your mom loves her as well” And I said, 'Oh, great.' I texted her and set up a time for her and I to meet to talk about the times she can care for her and what we wanted to have done." Chris had revealed in an interview later. Initially, he did not recognize Tunde, but what she said opened his eyes...
When Chris saw her incredible smile, he could sense something familiar about the nurse. Her aura was so positive and Chris was certain they had met before. He was immediately comfortable around her but did not know exactly why this was so. Could it be that her closeness to his mom made him accept her so easily? No, he had actually met her before!
The woman soon revealed an incident she once experienced. A kind stranger had helped her fill up her tank in the pouring rain once. Then it hit him. Chris started to get emotional. "I just looked at her, and I said, 'Tunde, that was me.' And we both just start crying. And she said, take your hat off. And so I took my hat off, and she said, 'It was you.' And we both, we just cried and had a moment right there," he recalled. This was indeed an amazing coincidence that led them to meet once more in a special way.
Life is such a funny thing sometimes. It gets so wonderful at times and you cannot help but wonder if this is all a movie sometimes. One day you feel down and out and other days, a kind strange rescues you from the pouring rain to get you on time for your job. And not just this, sometimes you end up becoming part of a family where a member had helped you out some time ago in the past. Weird and wonderful,right?
After this incredible rendezvous, Chris and Tunde were still in awe about the fact that they would meet again accidentally but still so happy. Judy's Parkinson's was getting worse, unfortunately, and sadly, she lost her battle and passed away on July 9th. Judy always had a loving heart so it did not shock her family when they heard about her final wishes...
Because of what they had gone through together, everyone had formed a strong bond. Tunde was now an important person to every member of Chris' family. No one was closer to her that his mother though. People from television and news channels were also interested in finding out more about Chris and Tunde's magical re-encounter. And soon, the producers of "The Ellen Show" were also on the loop and made a call to Tunde and Chris. Ellen Degeneres herself was among the people who wanted to meet Tunde. You better believe she was excited to meet Ellen. What followed next was truly amazing.
And after she appeared on "The Ellen Show", the story of Tunde and Chris was relatable to millions of people. The kind of friendship that Tunde and Chris was the kind you see on screen. It was amazing to see that their bond was strong and would last for life considering how they met and reunited once again. And Ellen wanted to do something for the two amazing people.
Ellen was also in awe of their friendship and how the universe aligned for the two to get together once more.
